Vascovid will be present at the 36th annual conference of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine. This year will take place in Milan and will feature the latest evidence and advances in patient care through multidisciplinary discussions and talks, interactive courses, demonstrations of the newest technology and simulation exercises.

PioNIRS will be presenting VASCOVID at the International Society on Oxygen Transport to Tissue 2023 Conference, which aims to elucidate the mechanisms for sensing, transporting and metabolizing oxygen in living organisms and to apply them to clinical challenges.

The first edition of the “fNIRS Italy” Conference aims to promote a network of collaboration with mutually beneficial exchanges for learners and users of fNIRS. The 2-day event will consist of invited lectures with internationally recognized speakers, oral and poster sessions to encourage dialogue and experiences by experts and newcomers alike.

PioNIRS will be presenting the VASCOVID project at the event, and VASCOVID researcher Alessandro Torricelli will be giving the talk “Translating fNIRS from research labs to the real world“. Registration open until 15/06/2023.

The Society for functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy is organizing the SfNIRS Summer School 2023 in Padova, Italy. 

With PioNIRS as an official sponsor, they will also be having an exhibition space to share the VASCOVID results. 

VASCOVID will be in the upcoming Cluster & Policy Event “Highway to Health – Visions in European Healthcare”. The event, organized by the EU projects ENVISION and COVend, will show cases of research and innovation initiatives funded under the EU’s Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes.

The Cluster Event will bring together researchers and key players of relevant initiatives to exchange knowledge and lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst the Policy Event will focus on future strategies for strengthening the EU healthcare system against pandemics.

VASCOVID will be present at the 2023 European Conference on Biomedical Optics, organized by SPIE. The event will share the latest advances, insights, and breakthroughs in the field of biomedical optics. The Diffuse Optical Spectroscopy and Imaging conference will feature several VASCOVID researchers as Session Chairs, and postdoc researcher at ICFO Marta Zanoletti will be presenting the project with three different talks:

• “Multiparametric Evaluation of Vascular Occlusion Test with Hybrid Diffuse Optics”. On 25 June from 9:15 AM – 9:30 AM CEST
• “Non-invasive Monitoring of Microvascular Health in Critically Ill Patients by Means of Hybrid Diffuse Optics during Vascular Occlusion Test”. On 25 June from 9:30 AM – 9:45 AM CEST.
• “Hybrid Diffuse Optical Platform for the Assessment of Microvasculature Health in the Intensive Care”. On 27 June 2023 from 4:45 PM – 5:00 PM CEST.

Dr. Jaume Mesquida will be presenting VASCOVID preliminary clinical data at the 58th Congress of the Spanish Society of Intensive and Critical Medicine and Coronary Units (SEMICYUC), that will take place form June 4th to June 8th in Málaga, Spain.

On the 28^th of April 2023, the Barcelona Medical Photonics Network Meeting will host its annual meeting, focused on “Microcirculation in health and disease”. The talks will cover the importance of accessing microcirculation information in a wide range of clinical areas, in the intensive care unit and beyond. In this frame, Dr Jaume Mesquida will give a talk about the monitoring of microcirculation when weaning from mechanical ventilation, Prof. Davide Contini will give an invited talk about VASCOVID, and Lorenzo Cortese will present the HEMOCOVID-19 project.

The Barcelona Medical Photonics Network aims to bring cutting-edge photonic technologies to clinical research and ultimately to routine clinical use through the interdisciplinary cooperation of eight prominent health institutions in Barcelona, their research institutes and ICFO.  It is part of a broader framework involving other disciplines and the industry.

The VASCOVID team will be at the 42nd International Symposium on Intensive Care. Project coordinator Prof. Turgut Durduran, Knowledge and Technology transfer officer Ariadna Martínez and clinician Jaume Mesquida will be representing the Consortium.

The IV Course on Cardiovascular Function and Hemodynamic Monitoring in Critical Patients, organized by the Parc Taulí Hospital, will have a session on the monitoring of hemodynamics, imparted by Dr Jaume Mesquida (MD) and a practical session training with the VASCOVID device.

VASCOVID partner BioPixS will be present at Photonics West 2023 with the booth with IPIC Ireland, where they will showcase the projects they are involved in.

The VASCOVID workshop will take place next November 10th and 11th at the Politecnico di Milano University in Italy. It will be a two day event focused on microvascular health and how optical tools can help clinicians to monitor the patients in the intensive care units.
