BioPixS cofounder and CEO Sanathana Konugolu Venakata Sekar has been selected as one of the 12 Entrepreneurs to Watch by Optica.
The Optics & Photonics news issue highlights the profile of 12 scientists and engineers that have started new companies using their optics and photonics background. The selected profiles include VASCOVID researcher Sanathana Konugolu Venakata Sekar, who talks about the spinoff he co-founded in 2020.
His company creates standardized tissue “phantoms” for biophotonics research, intending to solve the lack of a standardized approach to tissue phantoms, one of the main bottlenecks in biophotonics. Their high-quality products pretend to accelerate the projects, such as VASCOVID, to get the new technologies to the clinic faster while also reducing the number of animals used in preclinical research.
